#1. District 2, Masteri An Phu Italian Restaurant Ciao Bella Review
Italian restaurant Ciao Bella operates shops on Dong Du Street, where the Sheraton Hotel is located in District 1, and opposite ISHCMC International School, behind Masteri An Phu in District 2. Known for its good Italian dishes and reasonable prices, it attracts not only Westerners living nearby but also locals. The signature dishes, Posh Carbonara and Boscaiola Pizza, are particularly delicious.

This small, cozy restaurant with a casual atmosphere is always bustling around dinnertime. I made a reservation and visit with my friend on a Saturday evening, and sure enough, the empty tables around us quickly filled up.

I took a seat and ordered, and they brought me a baguette as an appetizer. It was delicious, paired with the accompanying tomato sauce, roasted garlic, olive oil & balsamic vinegar. It was a great snack to have with drinks while waiting for my food to arrive.

A large chalkboard on one wall of the restaurant listed daily specials not on the menu, along with a few wines available by the glass. I was craving beer more than wine that day, so I ordered Sapporo draft beer.

For my first dish, I ordered the Burrata Caprese as a starter. It was a salad of tomato slices topped with arugula, basil, burrata cheese, and sun-dried tomatoes. Drizzled with olive oil and a little salt, it brought out the natural flavors of the ingredients.

The creamy burrata cheese, fresh tomatoes, and fragrant arugula blended beautifully to create a simple yet impactful salad. If the flavors are too bland, you can season it with a sprinkle of Himalayan pink salt and pepper, which are available on the table.

For my second dish, I ordered Ciao Bella's signature, Posh Carbonara. It's a visually stunning carbonara, made with noodles mixed with garlic cream, tossed in a large wheel of Grana Padano, topped with poached eggs and prosciutto, and drizzled with olive oil and salt.

The carbonara, with its gooey texture and well-blended cheese, was enhanced by the rich flavor and aroma of poached eggs and olive oil, while the concentrated, intense flavor of prosciutto was a real kick. It started to get a little bland after a while, but a sprinkle of salt and pepper made it even more delicious.

For my third and final dish, I ordered the Boscaiola Pizza, recommended by the staff. It was generously topped with shiitake mushrooms, leeks, truffle oil, Parmesan cheese, and cream sauce, and it was particularly fragrant.

At first, I was a little disappointed by the pizza's lack of meat toppings, but the intense aroma of shiitake mushrooms, leeks, and olive oil, along with its soft, savory flavor, filled my mouth, and I was more than satisfied. Of the three dishes I had the day, it was the most delicious.

My mouth felt greasy after the meal, so I ordered a glass of house Prosecco. This Italian sparkling wine, while not as delicate as Champagne, was dry, refreshing, and not too sweet. It was a perfect wine to drink before or after a meal.

#3. Italian Restaurant Ciao Bella - Location
Italian restaurant Ciao Bella operates shops on Dong Du Street, where the Sheraton Hotel is located in District 1, and opposite ISHCMC International School, behind Masteri An Phu in District 2. I visited the An Phu branch, there is a neighborhood where many foreigners live and where many restaurants from various countries gather, so it is a place where visit often while living in Ho Chi Minh City.
