#1. District 2, An Phu Song Hanh Street Bunz Smash Burgers Review
Bunz Smash Burgers is located near MM Mega Market, An Phu, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City. A new restaurant offering the smash burger, that began spreading across the US in the 2020s from LA, has opened in An Phu, a town with a large foreign population. The place is bustling with customers during meal times, weekdays and weekends alike, with a particularly high number of Westerners.

The store is located in a corner on the first floor of a large fitness center building. The entrance is accessible by taking the outdoor stairs on the right side of the building. The store has a clean interior, and perhaps because there's an international school nearby, I saw many Western families visiting with their children.

Above the tray return station in the corner of the store, I noticed Heinz brand sauces. They included ketchup, chili sauce, mayonnaise, mustard, and Tabasco, giving the place the feel of a proper burger joint.

Unlike other franchise burger joints, Bunz Smash Burgers doesn't offer a set menu. You have to order burger, side, and drink separately. Come to think of it, Five Guys and In-N-Out don't have set menus either.

I ordered the Smash Burger(Large). The small has one patty, the large has two patties, and the extra large has three patties. The Smash Burger features a beef patty that's pressed flat and deep-fried.

Two beef patties, American cheese, homemade pickles, onions, and sweet sauce were between a brioche bun. The crispy outside and moist inside of the beef patties, along with the melted cheese, were between soft, savory buns, creating a satisfying experience. The refreshing homemade pickles cut through the greasiness, making for a perfect meal.

I ordered Truffle Hand-Cut Fries as a side. They were regular fries with a little truffle oil added to them, adding a luxurious flavor that wasn't bad. Dip them in ketchup and mayonnaise, and I couldn't help but crave beer.

I ordered a large Coke Zero, and they served it in jumbo size paper cup. The American style size concept gave it a real American burger joint feel.

#2. Bunz Smash Burgers - Menu
Bunz Smash Burgers has a simple menu with two burgers: the Smash Burger and the Cheese Burger, and two sides: regular fries and truffle fries. Toppings like bacon, mushrooms, and bacon-onion jam are available for an additional fee, while lettuce and tomato are complimentary. Beverages include soft drinks, homemade lemonade, water, and milkshakes.

I visited alone for lunch on Sunday and ordered as follows:
Smash Burger(Large): 200,000VND
Truffle Hand Cut Fries: 80,000VND
Coke Zero(Large): 70,000VND
Including 8% VAT, the total came to 378,000VND. Bunz Smash Burgers is the only place in Ho Chi Minh City that specializes in smash burgers, and I was quite satisfied with the decent burger at a reasonable price. The hand-cut fries were definitely tastier than the frozen ones, and the large American-style Coke, making me feel like I'd finally visited a proper burger joint.
